| This project started with the work that Patsy
did on assembling the photo album on Dan and Burd Patton. I have
always been interested in my family background; however, my grandfather,
Frank Patton, while a great photographer, always took pictures of
things like landscapes and nature, but not people. I was always
disappointed when I got a box of his old photos and found them full
of flowers and scenery, so Patsy’s efforts were really appreciated
by me.
I thought that if we got this information on the site it might be
possible for others to contribute more information and over time
we might build up a more comprehensive family story. It would also
be in a more permanent and accessible form. If you would like to
contribute information on any of these photos, you can find out
how to reach us by reading our contact
information.
The Patton Family Archives contains a total of 922 photographs and
documents. The photographs in Album
1, Album
2, and Album
3 have been digitized and the order in which they appeared
in the photograph album remains the same in the digital albums you
can view below. The miscellaneous
photographs section is a collection of photos that were
in envelopes or loose among the archives. The documents
section contains a number of historic documents, including wills,
share certificates, marriage and death certificates, and other personal
documents and items. You may also do
a keyword search of the archives. |
